I've worked in the outdoor field for over five years as a physical education teacher. In addition to being a qualified sea kayak coach I am also a river canoe coach, mountain leader, climbing instructor and first aider. My love of adventure has taken me all around the world from kayaking in Norway to mountaineering in Argentina.
Alice is from North Yorkshire but spends the summer with me in the Falklands. Alice works as a self employed jeweller and also keeps Falklands Outdoors running smoothly by helping with tours and logistics.
Peter is a 6th generation Falkland Islander who spent most of his childhood on the neighbouring (even more remote) islands of South Georgia. This set him off on a life of adventure from witnessing the end of the whaling industry in South Georgia to travelling across the world to solo the Matterhorn on one of his first trips to the Northern hemisphere. He has recently retired as the officer commanding the Falkland Islands Defence Force where he served for over 35 years.
Lucas is our team's web designer, brand and marketing consultant, photographer, and technology guru (we let him paddle a bit in the kayaks as well). He is currently undertaking a degree in Digital Media Development at the University of Brighton, and plans to fully join our team when he completes his degree.
Falklands Outdoors has been a idea of mine for many years. Over the past two years that idea has grown and is now reality.
In the Summer of 2018 it became official, I took a leap of faith, said goodbye to the day job and grabbed my dream. Being a seventh generation Falkland Islander it was only a matter of time before the call of the Islands brought me back.
